Unicorns, Mermaids and Magical Tales

For those of you who love all things folk tales, magical and mythical, this is especially exciting. Towards the end of last year, my good friend and awesome author, Helen Pryke, and I had the idea that we would like to collaborate on a book. Something we've never done before!

Both of us enjoy writing for children and have published several books between us (Helen writes hers under the pen name Julia E. Clements). Because of our shared love of magical things, we knew straight away this would capture the hearts of our readers too. So, expect fairies, unicorns, dragons and more in this book, aimed at middle-grade children. It’s going to be a delightful mixture of short stories and poems with brand new and original tales, perfect for sparking the imagination.

Bringing this book to life will truly be a family affair, the fabulous cover was designed by Helen’s talented designer and son, Francesco Valla, and it will be illustrated by my talented daughter, Abigail Northwood.

We are both so looking forward to sharing all the news to do with this project and will be releasing excerpts and sneak previews of the illustrations, over the next few weeks.

Together with beautiful illustrations, this collection of short stories and poems will capture the hearts of children of all ages and transport them on a magical adventure.

We hope children 8-12 years of age will come to treasure this book as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to life.
