Awesome reads according to me (2)

I've not managed to read quite as much as I would have liked over the summer but as it's been a while there are plenty of great books for you in my blog. With being busy writing myself and the kids off from School, life has been a little chaotic. As always these reviews are based solely on my own personal opinions and reflect my honest review, which is taken from the one I left on Amazon and Goodreads. I'd love to be able to give an in depth review of each book that I read but alas, I don't have the time! As an Author myself, I always try to review a book I read and include the best ones in my blog. Happy Reading and remember if you read a book, leave a review, it will absolutely be appreciated by the Author and readers alike. Here are some of my five star reads. Oh and if you're interested in purchasing or finding out more about any of the books, simply click on the picture and it will take you to the book on Amazon. Thanks for reading, Author Sarah Northwood.

Dreamland By Julia Clements- A beautifully written story full of adventure!

Kicking us off, this is a middle grade book, which l gave 5.0 out of 5 stars!

My girls and I read this beautiful story together. They are eleven and eight and the story held their attention throughout. This fact may not sound like a particularly exciting fact but it’s rare for me to find a story that they both enjoy. Following Danny and his friends on their journey, we couldn’t wait to find out what the next chapter and adventure would bring. The author has woven a story that includes, Dragons, Unicorns, Giants and more! What I especially love is that boys and girls can equally enjoy the tale and find something they will enjoy. This was a wonderful read and will no doubt be a story that children will treasure. I adore the cover too and can’t wait to get this in paperback!

(I now have the paperback and it's beautiful)

Walls of Ainsley by S.J Lynn, a fabulous read, this is a psychological thriller with a nice slice of romance

5.0 out of 5 stars

This is part one of a two book series, which is fabulously suspenseful. The romantic element keeps you sated in this first book, but it is a story that you will need to read the second for the conclusion. The vivid imagery of Ainsley Manor makes you feel like you can step into the story and I found that this thriller delivered plenty of twists and turns to keep me reading. I confess to being disappointed that there were not more of my questions resolved in this first book, but only because the story was so brilliantly constructed that I wanted to know what happened. I may have just become hooked!

Who killed Vivien Morse (DCI Hatherall Book 4) by Diana J Febry Another thriller this novel is part of a series but can easily be read as a standalone as I did. Great characters and story!

5.0 out of 5 stars

This is a such an easy story to get into. From the beginning, I liked the characters, who are far from 2-dimensional and found myself flipping the pages. I kept looking for the bit where the story became predictable but it didn’t come. A classic whodunnit story built around great characters and a far from predictable story made this an easy five-star review!

A Promise Remembered (The Soul Mate Tree Book 6) by Erin S Riley this paranormal read was such a fabulous story. Again a part of a series but easily read as a standalone. Is love stronger than death?

5.0 out of 5 stars

Rowan and James are two characters that exist in alternate realities, something you might suggest would be hard to follow in a story. Especially as I jumped into the series at this book, but this was not the case at all. I had no difficultly getting invested straight away and I found the different elements of the story easy to follow. The Author Riley has a beautiful style of writing that is easy to follow and keeps you wanting more. I read the story in one sitting. It definitely had that un put downable feel. I’d love to read more by this Author and would absolutely recommend this paranormal romance.

Chalice of Shadows by C N Lesley This contemporary science fiction novel was action packed with vivid imagery and a brilliant read!

5.0 out of 5 stars

The Chalice of Shadows was my first read of this Authors but I doubt it will be my last. This is book 3 in the series but as I discovered it is readable and thoroughly enjoyable as a standalone. I had no difficulty understanding the characters and found rather delightfully that you jump into the story from the beginning and it doesn’t let up until the end. I’d like to point out that I don’t usually read this genre but I may very well be changing that after reading this. I was drawn to this book both by the cover and excellent reviews its received so far but something I would like to pay particular credit to besides the wonderful narration of the story is the dialogue between the characters. The Author does a superb job of creating a dialogue that is both believable and enhances the characters, sucking me into the drama and imagery created in this fantasy world. I really enjoyed this read!
